Product Description
Magnesium is a vital cofactor involved in over 300 enzyme systems that regulate critical biochemical processes in the body — including protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation.
It plays a central role in energy production, oxidative phosphorylation, glycolysis, and the structural development of bones. Magnesium is essential for DNA, RNA, and glutathione synthesis and supports the active transport of calcium and potassium across cell membranes — a key process in nerve conduction, muscle contraction, and maintaining a healthy heartbeat.

What is Magnesium Glycinate?
Magnesium Glycinate is created by chelating one magnesium ion with two glycine molecules. This chelation produces a highly bioavailable and gentle form of magnesium that’s well-tolerated, even on sensitive stomachs.
Due to its molecular structure, only about 14% of magnesium glycinate is elemental magnesium. While some products buffer their formula with magnesium oxide or stearate to artificially increase magnesium content, this compromises absorption and often causes gastrointestinal discomfort.
We don’t buffer. CLEPON uses only pure magnesium glycinate — no additives, no mixed forms.
CLEPON … because we care
Each #00 size capsule (23.3 mm) provides 100 mg of elemental magnesium from 720 mg of pure magnesium glycinate and is free from any other forms of magnesium.
This modular dosage allows flexible intake from 1 to 4 capsules per day (100–400 mg), tailored to your individual needs.
We keep our formula clean and transparent, with:

Magnesium Glycinate: Questions & Answers
For more detailed molecular information, you can refer to the U.S. National Institutes of Health entry on Magnesium Glycinate – PubChem Database .
This means that elemental magnesium makes up approximately 14% of the total compound by weight.
For example, 720 mg of magnesium glycinate provides about 100 mg of elemental magnesium. The actual amount absorbed may vary based on individual digestive health and nutrient status.
If a product claims more than 14% elemental magnesium, it likely includes buffered forms — such as added magnesium oxide — to artificially raise the magnesium content. These additions are often not clearly disclosed and may reduce bioavailability.
On the other hand, slightly lower values (e.g., 13.5%–14%) can naturally occur due to variations in manufacturing processes, such as differences in water content, crystal hydration, or analytical measurement precision.
While magnesium and glycine are both naturally found in foods, the chelated form known as magnesium glycinate is produced in controlled laboratory conditions to ensure stability, purity, and bioavailability. It is specifically engineered for use in dietary supplements because of its gentle effect on the digestive system and efficient absorption.
This chelation helps magnesium bypass some of the common absorption barriers in the intestines, allowing it to be absorbed through amino acid pathways rather than depending solely on mineral transporters. As a result, magnesium glycinate tends to have higher bioavailability compared to non-chelated forms like magnesium oxide or magnesium sulfate.
Additionally, the presence of glycine, a naturally calming amino acid, makes this form particularly gentle on the gastrointestinal system, causing fewer digestive side effects such as diarrhea or cramping — issues often associated with other magnesium salts.
